Meet Karley and her adorable little guy, Gabe. We first met Karley back in 2013 when she was referred by Informed Choices Pregnancy and Parenting Center in Grayslake. Karley was an 18 year old student and cheerleader at Vernon Hills High School. Karley knew that in order for her to be the kind of parent she wanted to be, she’d need some extra support outside of her family. Sadly, Gabe’s father was not able to be involved in their lives, so Karley was eager to join Kindred Life. Karley thrived in the program and took advantage of her mentor, counselor and the life education group nights. Because of Kindred Life, Karley has a stable full-time job with benefits as an Administrative Assistant. She has grown to become a strong, hard-working, and generous single mother.
When Karley isn’t working she continues to volunteer once a month as a volunteer childcare provider in the Wheeling site office and is always eager to share her experiences with the young moms in the program as well as at ministry events. Karley and Gabe are able to grow and prosper because of ministry partners like Informed Choices who helped Karley transition to Kindred Life and connect with additional individuals, churches, and community resources they desperately needed.
