“I came that they may have life and have it to the full.” John 10:10

Twins IIWhat a wonderful picture of the life that Jesus came to give the human race! John describes Jesus’ gift not just as an ordinary, mediocre, or even a good life but emphasized the full, extraordinary, abundant life we can experience through a personal relationship with Jesus–something worth celebrating!

Sunday, January 15, 2017 marked Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS), a day celebrating life and placed on the calendar that falls closest to the 1973 Roe vs. Wade US Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion. Like SOHLS, Kindred Life Ministries shares in this celebration encouraging and sharing the good news of Jesus to those courageous mothers and fathers who bravely chose life for their children. Kindred Life provides a way for teen parents and their children to feel encouraged while they learn life skills in a loving Christian environment. We want teen parents to not only survive parenthood but thrive in it. For a young mother or father who is still in adolescence, adjusting and learning the many roles he/she must play can be overwhelming even when other family members may help share child-rearing responsibilities. Will you help us celebrate and share this good news with someone–an elderly neighbor, teen mother or someone with a disability who may need to know how much they are loved? All life is precious.

As we begin 2017,  join us as we renew our commitment to not only focus on the birth part of the pro-life movement but the life part as well. We invite you to partner with pregnancy centers and like-ministries that serve teen parents and children.

Do you wonder how you can make a difference in the lives of young parents and children? Is your desire to show teen families the way to Jesus so they can have life to the fullest? Are you wondering how you can take deliberate steps as a pro-family? Kindred Life invites you to serve with us as we educate, mentor, counsel and encourage teen parents and their families to live the abundant life Christ promises.

Here are just a few ideas to help you celebrate life:

  1. Pray for those who are facing an unplanned pregnancy as well as those who are serving pregnant and parenting teen mothers and children.
  2. Get involved in serving a teen mom or teen dad and their child at Kindred Life Ministries – learn more about volunteer opportunities here
  3. Tell/Share our ministry with others who need services or with those who desire to serve young families.

To talk with someone about how you can better serve teen parents and their children, please contact us at 847-599-8135. Thank you!
